The One Where Andrea Studies Abroad

Hi everyone! For those who are unfamiliar with me, my name is Andrea Schlieckau. Currently, I am a Sophomore at Iowa State University majoring in both Agricultural Business and International Agriculture. For the Fall 2019 semester, I am studying abroad at Perrotis College in Thessaloniki, Greece. I welcome everyone to this blog to keep up on my travels and the experiences to come! I will try to post often, at least once a week.

As I type this somewhere between Munich, Germany and Thessaloniki, Greece I cannot feel anything short of thankful for this opportunity made possible by Iowa State, Perrotis College, and my family. Studying abroad in my opinion is one of the best ways to submerse yourself into the varying cultures of our world and everything it has to offer while still furthering your education. For me, the decision to study abroad was easy, especially being an International Agriculture major. I will be taking 12 credits this semester, with those courses being; International Marketing Management, Greek Cultural Experience, Greek Language, Management of Livestock & Production, and Animal Welfare. Along with taking classes I will have the opportunity to visit Athens, Mt. Olympus, Meteora, and do some additional traveling on the weekends.

Thus far, things have went well. This is definitely a change of pace compared to the hectic summer I had between my internship and shows, but I am so excited for the experiences and memories to come. I hope all those reading this continue to check up the next few weeks as my trip progresses. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments!
